Ok y'all, I'm really excited about this one! I'll start by saying two things that I'm pretty fond of are Anthropologie and weddings. I like to joke that if I wasn't a speech-language pathologist I would probably be a wedding planner, and I'm always looking for a reason to go back to school so perhaps a degree in event planning is in my future?! Ok lets be honest, I probably shouldn't quit my day job just yet but that doesn't change the fact that I love checking out the current trends in weddings and seeing all the different things people are doing now. So about a month ago I got an e-mail from Anthropologie introducing their new wedding collection which launched on Valentine's Day. Am I serious? YEEEESSSS! You heard correctly, Anthro is now doing weddings! The shop is called BHLDN which I learned is pronounced "beholden" and offers everything from gowns and bridesmaid dresses to jewelry, hair accessories, and shoes. In true Anthro fashion, what you will find at BHLDN is fun, fashion forward and a far cry from boring bridal. If you love Anthro too, check out BHLDN, I think you'll like what you see!

Latte Bowls

Chances are you've seen these bowls at Anthro at least a time or two, and if you've said "Hmm, those are cute" but then walked right past, let me urge you to reconsider these super awesome bowls. They are the perfect size for anything you want to put in a bowl, from things like soup and chili to cereal and ice cream. The colors are so fun that just seeing them in the cupboard can make you smile. I'm not kidding, I have opened my cupboard many a time to see these colorful bowls and smiled simply because they are just so cute! In addition to being incredibly versatile and offered in wonderful colors, they are inexpensive and microwave/dishwasher safe. They make a great bridal shower or housewarming gift and they even come in a miniature size which is great for times when you just want a little tiny portion. Vera Bradley: Apron Gift Set

Any of you who know me know that I am a huge fan of Vera Bradley. That may even be an understatement seeing as on any given day, I am carrying at least 1, usually 2 Vera bags! I got my first Vera tote my freshman year of college and have been hooked ever since. So although this may be my first post about Vera Bradley, it certainly won't be my last. While shopping in a Vera store last weekend I came across the cutest thing: A Vera Bradley apron and recipe box!! Gah, they think of EVERYTHING! Seeing as I didn't have an apron or a recipe box yet (and they happened to be on sale!) I just had to get one. This would make a great gift for any girl that loves to cook or bake, or just likes to look good attempting to cook or bake! Find a cute set of recipe cards and you're good to go! Personally I recommend monogrammed cards because I just love monograms. You can get some super cute personalized recipe cards on Etsy as well as other various websites.

Vera: The Art and Life of an Icon

Today I found myself shopping at Anthropologie in the Lennox Square Mall which is located in Buckhead, a quaint neighborhood in north Atlanta. Upon entering the store, my mom and I noticed an overwhelming number of sales associates dressed to impress, as well as an entire table full of baked goods, fruit and drinks, which in retail could only mean one thing-a special event! After browsing for a few minutes we learned that the author of the book, Vera: The Art and Life of an Icon would be doing a book signing in the store today. Until today, the only two Vera's in fashion that I knew of were Vera Wang and Vera Bradley. It only took a minute for my stylish mom to inform me that in fact, the original "Vera" was an artist who made beautiful scarves and other textiles, and was actually very well known in the fashion industry. After flipping through the book which chronicles the life and career of Vera Neumann, an accomplished designer, artist, and entrepreneur, I was inspired to do further research to find out more about this American icon. What I came to discover is that she believed fine art should not just be for the wealthy, but should be available to all and incorporated into everyone's daily lives. She understood the positive impact that bright colors and patterns could have on a person's day, and was in fact the first person to put a print on a bed sheet! Anthropologie has designed a line of items from furniture, to linens, to clothing called "We Heart Vera" which are inspired by the designs of Vera's classic scarves. Below I have included some pictures of her work, which is quite amazing. So a special shout out to the late Vera Neumann, for putting prints on bed sheets and table linens, and making beautiful pieces of wearable art. What an inspiration!
